Ok since the shower is scheduled to take place in 2 weeks (and the date is just about all I’ve scheduled), I’ve spent some time this evening organising what is going to happen on the day.
The venue was the hardest aspect to nail down and it’s also the most important. I thought about booking The Mayfair Hotel (as I hosted my mums surprise 50th birthday there last year).
And also thought about booking at the über cool W London but there wasn’t any availability on my chosen date.

In the end I went with Kettner’s in Soho, London. Kettner’s is primarily a restaurant and bar but has a number of private event rooms which hold between 2 and 120 people.

Kettner’s are sorting out food and drink for me. They offer a range of menus for events from full sit down 4 courses to breakfast and standing reception options. I’m going with the latter which has options such as Mini Hamburgers, Mini Macaroons, Pork Rillette with Apple Sauce, Smoked Salmon Tartare and Chocolate Brownies to name but a few….. Mmmmm food.
There’s no room hire charge just a minimum spend which I’m pretty comfortable with.
Since I’m short on time I’ll be sending e-invites. There are so many options but I went with Paperless Post as I’ve used them before and really like the choice of design templates they have. I also love the tracking system where I can see who I’ve sent to, who’s opened the invite, who’s RSVP’d, who’s sent me a little note back, and I especially love that I can add custom notes to individual invitees. Good times!
My sister already had a wish/gift list set up on Mamas and Papas so I included the link on the invite.

To add a little pampering to the day I’ve asked Blossom and Jasmine to send round some therapists to do 15min express beauty treatments (mini manicures, mini massages and mini facials) for all the guests. Again I’ve used Blossom and Jasmine before in my own home on a number of occasions.

I’ve also used Return To Glory (click here) for at home manicures. They’re a little more expensive but I like the fact that I can book online by choosing my own time slot and select a particular therapist.
